Days Out West Yorkshire Things To Do W York UK

West Yorkshire, formerly West Riding lies in the north of England. It was once the cloth capital of the world, thanks to wool from the black faced sheep that roam the rolling green hills of the county. Many converted mills and weavers's cottages serve as a reminder of when West Yorkshire was famous for it's textile industry.

The cities of Bradford and Leeds are now modern, vibrant places to visit, with Leeds often being referred to as “the Knightsbridge of the North”. Bradford is home to the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television, the most visited UK museum outside London.
