To Do Warks UK
The historical county of Warwickshire lies in the heart
of England in the Midlands region, and is known worldwide as the birthplace
of William Shakespeare, from Stratford-upon-Avon.
Warwickshire has also produced other writers such as George
Eliot.
The county is also home to two magnificent medieval castles - Warwick
and Kenilworth, as well as Royal Leamington Spa, visited by Queen Victoria
during the 19th Century. A statue of the Empress of India still stands
in the town, having survived a bomb blast in the second world war.
