Somerset

Days Out Somerset & Things To Do Somset UK

Somerset is a rural county in south west England, known for its rolling hills and downland. There are no cities in Somerset but the county is home to some lovely market towns, including the mystical Glastonbury, the location of Avalon in the legend of King Arthur.

Straddling the border with Devon is Exmoor National Park, an area of hilly open moorland named after the river Exe which runs through it. Exmoor ponies and red deer can be seen on the moor, and possibly the Beast of Exmoor, a large puma-like cat rumoured to roam the area!
