Northumberland

Days Out Northumberland & Things To Do North East UK

Northumberland is a wild and beautiful county tucked away in the very north east of England, bordering Scotland. Once part of the Roman Empire and the scene of many bloody conflicts between England and Scotland, Northumberland has a long and complicated history which is evident in it's many castles.

The landscape of the county is diverse, boasting 400 square miles of rolling hills and wooded valleys in the Northumbrian National Park, as well as the low and flat Northumberland coast on the North Sea. Sandy beaches and pretty fishing villages can be found along the 60 miles of coastline.
