Merseyside

Days Out Merseyside & Things To Do North West UK

Merseyside is a small county in the north west of England which, as the name suggests, straddles the River Mersey. The county has been the birthplace of many famous names, including The Beatles, arguably the biggest band in history.

The main city in Merseyside is Liverpool, a well known sea port. Liverpool will hold the European Capital of Culture Award in 2008, and it is easy to see why. Liverpool has a strong history of performing arts, sports and architecture, as well as lively bars and nightclubs.
